During 1999-2000 Manaksia entered into a new venture for the manufacture of mosquito coils under the brand name "MORTEIN" with the support of Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd., a longtime business associate of the Company. The agreement with Reckitts’ ensures a complete buyback of the entire mosquito coil production for the next five years. 40% of the Rs. 500 crore mosquito repellent market is held by coiled products, of which Mortein mosquito coil is currently the market leader.
Recently, the company signed a new agreement with Jyothy Laboratories Ltd. (JLL) a well-known name in manufacturing and marketing of household products in India, for manufacturing mosquito coils on their behalf. For this purpose, the company has dedicated its factory at Bhopal. These coils are sold under the brand name "MAXO". Under this arrangement JLL will purchase an assured quantity of 75000 outers per month and this arrangement will be in force for five years, with an option to renew it.
